Muggins — a digital cribbage board for iPad and iPhone
Effective date: July 16, 2026

Muggins ("the app") is a digital cribbage pegging board developed by Kyle McGahey ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. The short version: the app has no accounts and stores your game only on your device. It collects no personal information on its own — the only information that leaves your device is the optional feedback you choose to send us (described below), plus the anonymized analytics and advertising data handled by the third parties described below. If you own Remove Ads or Unlock Everything, the app shows no ads, and its advertising components are not started on launch.

Information we do not collect

The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of our own. We never collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, or the contents of your games. Your scores and game state are stored only on your device and are deleted when you delete the app. The one exception is the optional feedback you actively choose to send us — see "Feedback you send us" below.

Analytics

The app uses TelemetryDeck to understand aggregate usage. TelemetryDeck is designed for privacy: it receives an anonymized (hashed) device identifier and the events the app sends. Those events include facts about game sessions (for example that a game started, completed, was resumed, or was abandoned, along with gameplay facts like the number of pegs played and whether the result was a skunk), purchase activity (the product identifier when a purchase is attempted, completes, or is restored — never your payment details, which stay with Apple), and app-health signals (for example that a saved game was recovered or a save failed to write). This data is not linked to you, is not used for tracking, and contains no personal information.

Advertising

Unless you own Remove Ads or Unlock Everything, the app shows banner ads and an occasional post-game interstitial (shown after a game ends — never in the middle of one) served by Google AdMob. Google is our only advertising partner; no other ad networks participate. Google may collect and process:

How Google handles this data is described in its own policies: Google — Advertising privacy and Google — Privacy policy.

Purchases

The app offers a few one-time in-app purchases — Remove Ads, individual board themes, and Unlock Everything, a bundle that includes ad removal and every paid theme. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. The app stores only a local record of what you own, and "Restore purchases" in the menu re-syncs that record with the App Store — purchases are tied to your Apple Account and work on any device signed into it. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policies; if Apple refunds a purchase, the app removes what it unlocked automatically.

Feedback you send us

The app has an optional Send Feedback screen. If you write a message there and submit it, the app emails us the text you wrote along with basic technical details that help us diagnose issues: the app version, your iOS version, and your device model (for example, "iPhone16,2"). Nothing is sent unless you choose to submit feedback, and the app does not attach your name, email address, or any account or advertising identifier.

To deliver the message, the submission is processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-to-email service acting on our behalf. Like any web service, Web3Forms receives the submission's ordinary network metadata — including your IP address — and may keep service logs. It stores submissions in order to deliver them, retains them under its own policies, and may run automated spam filtering on them, which can involve spam-detection services such as CleanTalk or Akismet. Its handling of the submission is described in its own privacy policy, linked above. We use feedback only to respond to you and to improve the app, and we keep it only as long as needed for those purposes. If you include personal information in the message itself, that is your choice — and you can ask us to delete feedback you have sent by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Muggins is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no accounts and no age gate; advertising is served by Google as described above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you beyond any feedback you have chosen to send us (see above), which we will delete on request; requests about advertising data are best directed to Google, and we are glad to help you route one — contact us at the address below. You can also reset or restrict your device's advertising identifier in iOS Settings at any time.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change ships. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
